Nails of The Day - Elephantastic Pink and Glisten

 Happy Tuesday Friends!

Today the sun is shining (not such a common occurrence here in London this Summer),  so I thought I'd treat my fingers and toes to something bright and summery.

This colour is simply GORGEOUS with a tan, but even with my pale British translucent, sun deprived skin, I think it looks pretty awesome too :P .

OPIs 'Elephantastic Pink' has been one of my go-to pinks lately, despite being a colour that is far from a new addition to my collection. Don't you just love it when you re-discover a solid favourite when you'd forgotten all about it!?

I find this colour is perfect
when I'm looking for something bright, that doesn't scream *neon*. It's out there, and definitely doesn't fade into the background,  but it can still be suitable for most occasions - including the boardroom! I'd describe it best as a bright sorbet pink with a hint of peach. In two coats it covers well, and even without a top coat, there is a fantastic shine pay-off from this formulation.

Today I paired 'Elephantastic Pink' with one of my budget-buys, using Lasting Fix nail polish in 'Glimmer' from 17 at Boots, as an overlay on my ring finger. I'm not convinced that these photos do this colour justice - but in person, the overlay gives a subtle rose-gold iridescence on that finger.

I haven't worn Glimmer on its own yet, but for me its a fabulous overlay colour and adds a little something extra to any pink or neutral shade when I'm lacking inspiration. It has lasted brilliantly with my more high-end nail varnishes underneath and it incredibly versatile.

Tomorrow I'm off to the spa with my Sisters for a day of birthday relaxation and indulgence. They'll be having manicures, but since I'm pretty happy with my digits right now, I'm going to skip that and go straight for the massages and facial!

Whatever you're doing tomorrow - Enjoy!
